Days 2 & 3

Day #2

Tuesday Lil J helped us make it to the city. I have no recollection of what occurred in the am but I do remember that Lil J walked us to the BART, pointed out miscellaneous landmarks that we would in no way remember and took us to the some area of SF to eat at Ike's Place.

Somehow, during one of the many times where I wasn't paying attention, C and Lil J had pre-planned that we would go order sandwiches from this place in SF since C insisted that it was delicious. I ended up ordering incorrectly since they have 2 sandwiches with ridiculous names ie Barry Z and Barry B. ugh. Anyhow, at the time of our sandwich purchasing, we weren't hungry so C had the genius idea of eating our sandwiches at Golden Gate Park...like a picnic. It all sounded good in theory.

This is me, being mature. LOL

Lil J told us that we would catch a bus to get to GG Park so we followed her like lambs to the slaughter. Talk about the blind leading the blind. We ended up walking through Castro, past Twin Peaks, which is the highest point in SF, before going back down a street (after yelling at C to check her Blackberry google gps) before finally ending up at the entrance to GG Park.

We sat on a bench, ate our sandwiches (mine was over salty partly due to the fact that I ordered the wrong sandwich) and then we went to go play in the children's area like 3 large pedophiles. They actually have a sign that says adults must be accompanied by children. Since the 3 of us squabble like children, it seemed appropriate that we would be playing in the children's area. They have a really cool rope web that Lil J and I climbed. With old age comes fear and that is the reason I refused to climb to the top. We walked around the park, decided we saw enough and made a mutually beneficial agreement that it was time to go shopping. It was on our way to the Union Square shopping area where I realized we had barely made it inside the park. We plan to return on Friday to actually go inside. LOL

Having time to stop by a Westfield, I spent hours debating over scarves and glittens to protect myself from the crisp cool air of SF. We saw a couple of flashy signs, took the BART back to Oakland, went shopping for groceries, made dinner, watched an episode of MythBusters and went to sleep. More pictures to come.

Day #3

Lil J went to work so C and I had the whole day to be independent. Our original plan was to wake up, walk around Lake Merritt for some cardio, go to SF to resume shopping and sight seeing before coming back for a dinner at Zachary's. In actuality, we left the apt around 3 or 4 in the afternoon, got on the BART towards what we thought was Berkeley, realized we were going in the wrong direction, spent another hour correcting our mistake and landed in Berkeley long after the sun set. Since I made the executive decision to leave the apt in a thin tee, the next plan of action was to buy a sweatshirt or jacket since that is what any other reasonable person would do. I bought a sweatshirt at Urban Outfitters and then we stood outside waiting for Lil J and her bf to pick us up. The evening ended with deep dish pizza from Zachary's and an episode of Glee. Exciting, I know.

the highly anticipated Zachary's pizza that I (C) was very happy to finally try. Ignore the little chewed up piece on the bottom right. That was because lil J could not resist that yummy tomato sauce.

  1. Wow you must be really tired or you have early onset Alzheimer's. It's called Ike's Place and lil J and I decided the night before to eat at GG park bc who wouldn't love eating a delicious sandwich at a green, grassy park?! And remember you got some cookies at Hot (Gay) Cookies.

    Day #3 sounds so uneventful.

  3. Hey I love the sound of that park. Especially the sign designating you all clearly as pedo's since you had no children with you, although I agree about the squabbling. I love climbing!

By the way when we went to Hawaii we were all shamefully excited when we saw a sign that said Puh'na ni drive or spelling something like that. We all took pics under it with big smiles so I appreciate that uranus.
